Historic pair of Dieppe mirrors circa 1815. Produced by French prisoners of war from Napoleon’s armed forces. They were made from whalebones primarily so the men could pay for food and clothes. These depict cherubs, serpents, flags, military insignia and captioned in Latin Sgotorum(of the Scots). Wonderful rare and historic pieces.
